The Graz Jurisprudence PhD Workshop 2026, organised by Marlene Anzenberger, Maja Katharina Rostek and Barbara Zeller brought together early-career scholars from across Europe and beyond for a day of focused academic exchange in Graz.
Eight presentations covered key debates in legal theory, legal philosophy, and international constitutional law - from democratic backsliding and positive constitutional rights to the relevance of previous decisions and climate litigation.
Each paper received in-depth feedback from a dedicated commentator before opening up to broader group discussion.
A big thank you to all participants for the excellent contributions and engaging discussions: Tomáš Koref, Filip Jelínek, Matthias Fritz, César Augustho Moreno Díaz, Veronika Nehasilová, Lucia Franke, Matyáš Barták, Maja Katharina Rostek and Barbara Zeller.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Junges Forum Rechtsphilosophie for their generous funding, and to the whole team at Graz Jurisprudence for their fantastic support!
We are already looking forward to continuing the workshop next year.
